About Appeal

HELP US HELP OTHERS

We rolled up our shutters on Thursday, March 19, 2020, to distribute food at our usual time, from 5.30 pm until food finished an hour later.

But we no can no longer have our usual dine-in, semi-buffet Dinner Service.

To protect everyone, especially our volunteers, we will be complying with government orders for only takeaways, with all precautions taken.

To ensure that we minimise risk, we will not be having any student volunteers or new volunteers calls during this period but will have a minimal volunteer crew.

This means a number of things:

  1. Minimal crew + takeaways only will necessitate a modification of our usual menu, which will impact our food stocks.
  2. A significant increase in containers, packages etc, which means an increase in financial costs.
  3. No free flow of clean drinking water for our street clients during this hot weather, which we usually provide.
  4. We will not be able to cater for special pay-it-forward meals or have private catering clients. This has the most financial impact on us, as we rely on this to pay our overheads.

And that is why we need your help.

We need your help to help us make sure that the poorest and underserved among us still have basic necessities like food and water.

PSCC COVID-19 DINNER PACKS – RM 9.90

During this time, we have been providing 110 cooked meals to old folks homes, refugee shelters, orphanages and other organisations four times a week.

These meals comprise of a Main Meal, a Hard Boiled Egg, a piece of Fruit and a bottle of mineral water. Our main meals have varied from sardines and rice to pasta with chicken sausages, very much depending on what we can rescue and the items we receive.

For RM9.90 and with your help, we’ll be able to push out 110 cooked meals to those among us who need a hot cooked meal the most.

PSCC ONE TRAY OF RAW EGGS – RM 12

We have also been providing our beneficiaries with trays of raw eggs, a simple but important source of protein. For each tray of raw eggs, we will be able to provide our beneficiaries with 30 Grade B Chicken Eggs.

PSCC ONE VEGGIES BOX – RM 25

We, at the Pit Stop, are committed to serving our beneficiaries the most nutritious food that we can find. This means vegetables. Our box consists of kitchen staples like onions, potatoes and carrots, but also tomatoes, sawi, pumpkin and cabbage. Each sponsorship of a box is RM 25.

If you have any questions, please comment or PM us.

As always, our thanks, love and gratitude,

The Pit Stop Team
