The Singapore Red Cross' local humanitarian services serving the MOST vulnerable in Singapore has been done out of the limelight.

  • Red Cross Home for the Disabled (RCHD) - help our residents like Yin Leng, who cannot move and has serious spinal problems get a proper quality of life. Our Home also provides long-term residential, respite and day care services for children and adults with both severe multiple physical and mental disabilities.

  • TransportAid - helps the elderly and the disabled from low-income homes get to and from their vital medical treatments, rehabilitation and day care centres. There has been an increasing demand for this service.

  • FoodAid - provides monthly rations of nutritious food to Grandpa Rahim and Grandma Asmah as well as the 7 grandchildren whom they take care of. With the grand children's parents in prison, it is a daily struggle for them to provide even basic necessities.

  • Community Led Action for REsilience  (CLARE) - brings together various stakeholders to care for the elderly and the vulnerable like Mr De Silva, 74, who stays alone. Because of knee problems and after undergoing a heart bypass surgery, Mr De Silva cannot work and is receiving help from the Singapore Red Cross. Our CLARE programme also involves committed volunteers who visit Mr De Silva regularly to provide moral support and company.
