About Event

  • On 25 April, a powerful (7.9 magnitude) earthquake hit Nepal and at least 4,000 people have been killed. The epicentre of the massive quake was 80km (50 miles) east of Pokhara, approximately half way between the town and the capital Kathmandu. Strong tremors have been felt as far away as India and Tibet.
  • 4月25日尼泊爾發生強度7.9級地震，造成至少4,000人死亡。震央界乎首都加德滿都和東部博克拉鎮之間80公里深的地底。強烈的地震遠在印度和西藏都感受到。

  • Initial reports indicate significant damage with buildings collapsed, roads destroyed and casualties being rushed to hospital - thousands of children have been affected. They urgently need medical supplies, shelter, food and clean water.
  • 初步報告顯示傷亡嚴重，許多建築物倒塌，損失嚴重，大量受傷民眾被送往醫院搶救。房屋及道路遭到嚴重破壞，數以千計的兒童受到影響。他們亟需要醫療用品，帳篷，食物及亁淨的食水。

  • Save the Children’s team have been working in Nepal supporting children and their families for nearly 40 years, and our teams are already on the ground coordinating for this emergency. We aim to raise HK$1 million to support this response.
  • 救助兒童會在尼泊爾幫助兒童和他們的家庭接近40年，並且我們的救援隊伍現時已於當地展開工作。 我們希望籌集到港幣100萬元，以支援尼泊爾的緊急救援工作。

  • In an emergency like this, children are incredibly vulnerable. This is a terrifying, uncertain time for many of them.

  • HK$2000: could purchase 6 kitchen sets which will help 6 families to prepare, cook and eat hygienically, containing essential items such as pots, cutlery, mugs and plates.
  • HK$1000: could pay for 4 shelter kits which provide 4 families which emergency shelter and contains rope and tarpaulin.
  • HK$500: could purchase 8 jerry cans which can both transport and store water.
