Hoong Sian Vei (Peyser) is participating in [Summer 2021] Here For You
and is fundraising for AIESEC Malaysia Association (Taylor's University)

I am making a change in people's lives by raising funds for the National Cancer Society Malaysia, one of our partners in Here For You project so that they can sustain their operation which is to provide services for the cancer patients and the public, especially underprivileged children and adults from the B40 community to fight and prevent cancer!! If I achieve RM 300, I will record a video of myself dancing to "I'm sexy and I know it"

My Story

  • The reason why I am joining the Here For You project by AIESEC in Taylor's University is that cancer is a not trendy topic in Malaysia, not many talk about it in their daily conversation, and not many know that cancer is preventable by having medical check-up annually such as early screening, eating healthily and maintaining good mental health. By having the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) as one of our partners in this project, the public especially the B40 community can be more aware of cancer and the services provided by NCSM to fight and prevent cancer as it is affordable, implicating that "Health is not rich people privilege" and "Everyone has equal access to health care". 
  • This is my third time volunteering with a different theme. My past two volunteering experiences (being a zoo volunteer and river cleaning volunteer) help build my personal development and it turned out as my compassion for being a volunteer because I contribute to society without expecting anything in return, which makes me happy ^.^.
